Progress Energy Florida is seeking proposals from potential suppliers of electric generating capacity and associated energy as described herein. In this RFP, Progress Energy Florida is soliciting proposals for alternatives to the Company's “Next Planned Generating Unit” (NPGU), which is approximately 1,159 MW (net summer rating) of capacity available for commercial delivery by June 1, 2013.

Progress Energy Florida invites all potential participants to submit bids in accordance with the terms and conditions of this RFP (PEF2013RFP). However, the Company will consider other resource types. Proposals received shall be evaluated in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and statutes.
