Progress Energy is the only company to earn the Edison Electric Institute's Emergency Response Award  five times since the program’s inception. Given annually to shareholder-owned electric companies, the award recognizes superlative efforts to restore electric service that has been disrupted by severe weather conditions or other natural events.
