Progress Energy Florida plans to enhance the transmission grid in the Pinellas Park, Lealman and St. Petersburg areas of Pinellas County.

This project will add a new line and replace part of an existing line inside Progress Energy's current right of way. The improvements are needed to ensure reliable service for the community.

The project runs about eight miles, starting at the Northeast substation, on Gandy Boulevard, connecting through the 32nd Street substation, and ending at the 40th Street substation, on 13th Avenue North.

Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2008 and will continue through April 2009. Upon completion of the project, all construction material and debris will be removed, and the right of way will be restored as nearly as possible to its original condition.

If you have questions about this project, please contact Jeff Baker at 727.562.7419.
