Progress Energy has partnerships with several community colleges in North Carolina and South Carolina and Florida.

We partnered with local community colleges to help us to meet and exceed our customers' expectations. To have a skilled and committed workforce with a wide range of backgrounds, views, and experiences, we must foster strong relationships with the colleges and universities that offer the skills that we need.

Another example is our new Power Careers Program, targeting students who are interested in gaining knowledge and experience to help run our power plants.

Students also work with employees in other departments to help them explore the various opportunities that exist throughout the organization. This program has proved to be a win-win experience for the participants as well as Progress Energy.
