The Harris Nuclear Plant is a single-unit pressurized water reactor with a capacity of 900 MW. This plant was the last U.S. nuclear plant to receive a construction permit and began commercial operation May 1987. Progress Energy has announced plans to possibly add two more reactors to this site.
