In 2006, Progress Energy announced that this site in Levy County, Fla., is the preferred location for the potential building of two new reactors. Since then, the company has filed a combined operating and licensing application with the NRC. If the decision to build is made, construction could begin in 2010. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the first nuclear reactors built in this country for decades.
The Levy County site is located in central Florida, near the west coast, and in driving distance to the attractions in Orlando. To learn more about the area, click here.
