  • Located near Skyland, N.C.
  • Has four units (two coal, two combustion turbines) capable of producing approximately 722 MW
  • First plant in Southeast to use combination of NOx-reduction technologies
  • Installed two scrubbers to remove sulfur dioxide in 2005 and 2006 and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology in 2006 and 2007. SCRs remove nitrogen oxide emissions.
  • Part of the community since 1964
