Heat pump Progress Energy's High-Efficiency Heat Pump Rebates make heating your home more economical than ever before.

If you've participated in a free Home Energy Check and received a recommendation for a new heat pump, you can receive as much as a $350 incentive. Just contact Progress Energy for details about our Heat Pump rebate program.

Federal tax credits available! Through 2010, there is a 30 percent federal tax credit up to a $1,500 maximum issued toward heat pump replacement. Click here to verify the requirements.

A free Progress Energy Home Energy Check within the past 24 months with a qualifying recommendation is a prerequisite to qualify for all incentives.

Rebate details: Heat pump replacing resistance heat (strip heat):
Minimum 14 SEER & 7.8
HSPF = $250 credit
Minimum 15 SEER & 8.0
HSPF = $350 credit

Heat pump replacing less-efficient heat pump:
Minimum 14 SEER & 7.8
HSPF = $100 credit
Minimum 15 SEER & 8.0
HSPF = $150 credit

For customers installing a new air conditioner with non-electric heat:
Minimum 14 SEER air conditioning unit = $50 credit

Heat pump must be installed by a licensed, insured air conditioning dealer. Rebate amount is determined by the efficiency rating of the heat pump and existing heat type. The condensing unit and the air handler must be changed at the same time.

For non-electric heat incentive, resident must maintain heat source type.

Home Energy Check is required to qualify for these rebates.
