As Western North Carolina's energy needs continue to grow, Progress Energy Carolinas is engaging a panel representing numerous perspectives -- from government and industry to renewable energy companies and the environmental community -- to help the company in implementing aggressive energy-efficiency programs and to advise the company on plans to meet the region's electricity demands reliably, affordably and in an environmentally sound manner.

Upcoming meeting Sept. 12

The next meeting of CEAC will be held Friday, Sept. 12, at the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce board room. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m. As usual, this meeting will be open to the public and will include a public comment period.
