To temporarily disconnect or reconnect power for tree trimming, painting or repairs to your home, please follow   these steps:

Duke Energy can temporarily disconnect (drop) service Monday through Friday with the exception of Duke Energy holidays.  For your convenience we can offer you a morning or afternoon appointment (8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.).

If you had repairs made to your meter base and/or service lines an electrical inspection may be required prior to Duke Energy reconnecting your power. If an electrical inspection was required, you can help expedite your reconnection by asking the electrical inspector to leave a copy of the inspection ticket in your meter base. Once we receive confirmation from the inspection department that we can safely reconnect your power or we are notified that the inspection ticket was left in the meter base, a service technician will be dispatched to your home as soon as possible.
