Today, Duke Energy is venturing into solar power in a big way with plans to add up to 500 megawatts of utility-scale solar in Florida by 2024.
Duke Energy has been committed to the expansion of solar energy in our state for decades. Our first solar, or photovoltaic (PV), project in Florida was commissioned in 1988 to research the technology's potential for delivering electricity directly to the grid.
